Riyadh, 15th January of 2026
During the Future Minerals Forum 2026, ARGAS – The Arabian Geophysical & Surveying Company, in partnership with Christensen Boyles, officially presented a new generation of diamond drilling bits specifically engineered for the environmental and geological conditions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The presentation ceremony marked a significant milestone in the strategic collaboration between ARGAS and Christensen Boyles, bringing together leadership, technical teams, and key stakeholders to unveil drilling technology purpose-built for Saudi Arabia’s mining sector. Designed to address high ambient temperatures, variable lithology, and demanding operational conditions, the newly introduced drilling bits represent a step forward in drilling performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Developed through close technical cooperation, the new drilling bits combine ARGAS’s deep understanding of Saudi geology and field operations with Christensen Boyles’s advanced diamond drilling technology and precision engineering. Commenting on the launch, Eng. Yahiya Al Shangiti, Chief Executive Officer of ARGAS, noted “This partnership reflects our commitment to innovation and operational excellence. By combining local expertise with global technology, we are setting new standards for drilling performance in Saudi Arabia and supporting the sustainable growth of the mining sector.”
From Christensen Boyles’s perspective, Mr. Eugenio Eguiguren, Executive Vice President of Christensen Boyles, stated “Our collaboration with ARGAS is a milestone in delivering solutions tailored to the region’s unique challenges. These diamond drilling bits are designed to maximize efficiency, reliability, and performance under the toughest conditions.”
The new drilling bit series includes surface-set and impregnated designs, compatible with PQ, HQ, NQ, and BQ core sizes, and manufactured using premium synthetic diamonds combined with a high-density tungsten carbide matrix to ensure superior wear resistance. Optimized cooling channels enable reliable performance in ambient temperatures of up to 60°C, while enhanced stability reduces vibration and improves core recovery across sandstone, limestone, and igneous formations.
This initiative supports the Kingdom’s mining ambitions under Saudi Vision 2030, reinforcing localization, technology transfer, and the adoption of advanced drilling solutions that contribute to safer, more efficient, and more sustainable mining operations across Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
